ABOUT THE COMPANY

At CustomMade, we believe engagement rings should be as personal as the relationships they represent. We make it easy to create a ring that’s both one-of-a-kind and affordable. Turns out people really like that and word is really spreading quickly! We’ve created 30,000 pieces of custom jewelry and helped 12,000 couples get engaged, but we’re still just getting started reshaping the jewelry industry.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Our offering is built on a one-on-one, specialized, and custom design experience and service. As a Custom Jewelry Project Manager you’ll be at the heart of that, working with customers from initial request all the way to a fully designed one of a kind piece. You’ll be the face of our company to the customer, coordinating with our designers, gem experts, and jewelers to help design and create their dream ring.

In this role, you’ll be evaluated primarily on your ability to connect with customers, coordinate design and gem selection, and effectively execute the customer’s design vision. Each project you handle will be unique and require creativity, discretion, and independent judgment. Our customers are at the heart of our process and, as a Custom Jewelry Project Manager, you’ll be an integral part of both their success and ours.

A typical day would include things like:

Building and maintaining customer relationships:

  • Work closely with new and existing customers through online messaging
  • Manage ongoing relationships with existing customers and support on their future projects

Sharing design and material expertise:

  • Understand key customer preferences to bring their design ideas to life
  • Make thoughtful design and material recommendations that align with the customer’s priorities
  • Coordinate with our technical teams to successfully translate the customer’s vision into a manufacturable design
    • Present concept sketches and 3D renderings to customers, answering questions and receiving feedback for subsequent revisions
    • Communicate design revisions to our CAD designers and concept sketch artists
    • Share and discuss diamond or gem options

Managing the overall success of your projects:

  • Approach each project individually to make the design and development process fun and easy for the customer based on their needs and working style
  • Create and present quotes for customers that fit their budget and design requirements
  • Plan and manage project timelines with consideration of sketch, CAD, and manufacturing to ensure deadlines are met

Contributing to internal development:

  • Review communication techniques, technical guidance, and project strategy feedback with your manager
  • Experiment with new approaches and resources with the guidance of your manager
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with other Project Managers and cross functional partners

We are open to in-office candidates (Cambridge, MA) and remote candidates. Our business is fully online, so no in-store or in-office presence is required.
